This is a 1976 Short shaft tiller in collector condition. It has some scratches and scuffs as can be seen in the pictures but not what you would normally see for its age. This motor came to me from a person that bought a storage unit and this was one of the items. It is in amazing condition for a 1976 motor. I checked it all over and it was clear the motor had very little use.
The starter pinion teeth and condition of the Tiller handle grip and tiller teeth all show no wear with the paint still on the ball gears of the tiller shaft. These areas are good indicators of how much use a motor has had. I hooked up gas, pulled the choke and it was running on the 3rd pull. I was very impressed with how smooth it idled but it was not pumping water so I shut it back down and pulled it out to install pump. Based on no marks on any of the lower unit bolts, this was the 1st new impeller since the motor left the factory. Started in 2 pulls after the impeller was installed and pumped good water.
This motor is complete and very nice with no known defects. These motors are typically well loved and show years of use, this is the nicest one I have ever owned from the mid 1970's. Properly maintained it should provide many years of solid service.
This motor weighs 71 pounds. Shipping weight includes a custom built wood shipping crate. There is a $50 crating cost included in the shipping shown. Local inspection and pickup is free from our store in SW Michigan, Plainwell.
