100 Year Old ELTO Outboard Motor Evinrude Super J Ruddertwin Polished Man Cave
Perfect man cave display/conversation item. This rare motor has been polished and repaired to the point where it could run. It really belongs on Display and a wall mount is included along with a laminated history of this Elto 4hp racing engine. It is shown hanging on it in the last photo. The Ruddertwin motors are unique with the rudder being used for steering and for cooling the engine with water being pushed through the rudder and up into the engine. This rare and unique motor is quite an eye catcher and would make a great Christmas for a man cave display. This motor is partially restored but has enough patina to show it is 100 years old! Look over the photo's to fully see the condition. I have not attempted to start this motor but everything is here to run other than the flywheel has a crack in the keyway where it connects to the crankshaft. This is only visible with the engine apart and is hard to spot even when you know where to look. It could be repaired or replaced with a good used flywheel. The inside of the tank has light surface rust. There is one dent in the tank in a front corner shown in photo's. Overall this motor looks very sharp and catches everyone's attention and creates all kinds of conversation from its "knuckle buster" starter to its rudder steering. I do not know any man that would not be thrilled finding this under the tree on Christmas day. Shipped in a custom built wooden crate which is part of the shipping cost shown in this listing.
