This is everything needed to do a basic electric start conversion to your 18 20 25 hp Mercury outboard. This kit includes the charge system.  In most cases I have a less expensive option that does not include charging. A single battery charge will typically start your motor for months of use.  This fits Mercury XD motors from the 80's to early 2000, 2 stroke outboard motors. Parts are a combination of used OEM and used aftermarket.  Â
This after market starter has 75%+ brush life.  Oem Stator, rectifier, battery cables, Start solenoid, ring gear, OEM OMC momentary toggle for starting. This does not include start in gear protection. This kit has been pre-wired for easy installation and includes installation hardware.  A person with basic tools and mechanical ability can install this kit.Â
The retail cost of just the ring gear in this kit is over $300. Â
